BCS Benefits & Insurance Services

For the past 30 years, BCS has provided a number of new and very exciting benefits, services, and insurance plans to union members. BCS will now be providing the new plans and services to BCEA. BCS and your union recognize the need to continuously upgrade services and products and have done so for thousands of union members.

In addition to providing a free life insurance policy for the BCEA members, other programs being provided include, but are not limited to the following:

  2. Free Estate Planning Seminars offering FREE WILLS and greatly reduced rates for Living Trusts for members AND their families.
  3. Special discounts on new home financing and refinancing.
  4. Cancer insurance, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, life insurance (both term and permanent policies available and, in many cases, NO PHYSICAL EXAM IS REQUIRED) and an exciting, new Supplemental Disability Insurance Plan. Most of these plans are available for BCEA members and their families. these are attractive alternatives and supplements to the plans currently available through your employer!!

All these plans are payroll deducted and are "portable" so you can take them with you if you change employers or retire.

In February, 2003, a new disability income insurance was offered to members. This coverage includes:

  1. Pay you up to 40% of your gross pay, tax-free!
  2. Benefits are paid in addition to any other insurance, Worker's Compensation, or Social Security.
  3. Covers accident and sickness, including pregnancy.
  4. All benefits are paid directly to YOU!!
  5. 14 or 30 day wait, you choose!
  6. You are covered 24 hours a day - at work, home, or play, 365 days a year.
  7. First day coverage for sickness hospitalization.
  8. Thousands of Municipal employees already have this wonderful supplemental coverage.
  9. Your City plan pays 60%, this pays the other 40%.
  10. You pick the amount and the cost.
  11. Rates do not increase if you have a claim.
  12. Guaranteed Issue! If you apply in the next 60 days, you are guaranteed a policy, regardless of past medical conditions.
