"Leslie Denise Key-Barrett was born to the union of Randy Key and Irene Chisholm in Los Angeles, CA on September 20, 1964. She is the first born of two through this union. Leslie was raised in Los Angeles where she attended Western Avenue Elementary, Audubon Middle School, and Crenshaw High School. She accept Christ at a young age. Leslie's long-time church home is Crenshaw Church of Christ; presided over by Minister Bill Curl.

Young Leslie was a member of the Figueroa Church of Christ Angelic Choir where she sang in religious and city sponsored events. She made friends easily with her personality and smile; she kept many of her friends through out her life.

Leslie married Errol Barrett in 1989. She briefly moved to Chicago, IL., where her only child, Charles Randolph Barrett was born. After realizing how cold it actually gets in Chicago, she moved back to sunny Los Angeles, CA eleven months later to live closer to her family and many friends.

Leslie worked as a clerk for the City of Burbank for over 15 years. Leslie was also an entrepreneur and owned several network marketing businesses. Her bright smile and infectious laugh touched all that knew her. She had the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, and was known for being a loyal and trusted friend. She raised her son Charles as a devoted single parent and managed to instill her unique sense of self awareness, strength and independence in him. Leslie prepared Charles for the future and surrounded him with loving family and friends.

After battling asthma for many years, Leslie was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2007, 10:45pm at the Providence St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, CA
