If an employee has not recovered by the time he or she has exhausted his or her accumulated sick leave, upon application the City Manager may grant him or her a sick leave without pay. Such application shall not be unreasonably denied. If granted, usage shall be approved only in time increments not to exceed 30 days each, except for maternity and FMLA leave.
