President's Report - Kathleen Lindblom

I would like to thank all of the members who attended last week's General Membership Meeting. It is great to see that the turn-out at our monthly meetings has increased. There have been several great ideas that have come from these meetings. The money drawing at last week's meeting was up to $50.00. The name drawn was Agnes Tessier and, unfortunately for her, she was not in attendance. At next month's meeting, the drawing will be worth $75.00.
Negotiations are rapidly approaching and the Executive Board is getting prepared. The Negotiations Team has been selected for 1999. The Team will consist of a main negotiations team and an advisory team. The main team will attend all negotiations sessions. The advisory team members will be rotated into the negotiations sessions to receive exposure to the process and provide additional input to the main team.

Please take a few minutes to fill out and return the Negotiations Survey that was mailed to you. The surveys will be tabulated and this information will be included in our proposal to the City. The Team needs your input - if you don't tell us what you want, then we can only guess!
Also mailed to you was a copy of the 1999 Salary Survey results - it has finally been completed! Please check under the benchmark positions for your title. I have listed the percentage(s) that the benchmark(s) were either under or over survey. If your benchmark was under survey, then I listed the percentage raise you can expect. The raise(s) will be reflected on the April 10th check. Expect a retro check (July 1st through March 15th) on May 10th.
