President's Message Darrin G. Borders - President
As we head into the autumn months, here are few updates on what is currently going on!
BCEA NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE!!!
The contract negotiations are nearly complete. The negotiation team brought a proposal to the membership on Wednesday, September 3rd. Click the following for the complete details of the proposal and the salary survey adjustments. The ratification results were overwhelmingly positive with 204 in favor, and 4 against and a 5-0 Council vote. I want to thank everyone who voted and attended the various meetings; your input was especially helpful and your encouragement gave us the strength to push forward and stay the course with our goals! Over the next few weeks, the final language will be completed and new MOUs will be printed. Once we receive them, they will be distributed through the Stewards.
BCEA BENEFIT REPS AVAILABLE!!!
The 2008 Health Fair was held on Tuesday, September 23rd. If you were unable to attend or you still have questions, our PEBT representatives are available on Tuesday 10/7 and Thursday 10/9 from 10am to 2pm at the CSB Community Room (104). Open enrollment changes are due by October 10. A BCS (Benefits Consulting Service) rep will also be on hand for members to sign up for the various supplemental disability and life insurance plans among others.
BCEA GENEOLOGY HELP AVAILABLE!!!!
If you are looking into your family history, the BCEA can now search for your ancestors. Please go to the Member Only Discount and Services, fill out and print the Information Form and send it to the BCEA office and you should get your results within two weeks of our receipt.
BCEA HALLOWEEN BOWL HAUNT & LAUGHLIN TRIP 2008!!!
The 4th Annual Bowling will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 5-9pm. Please go to the Group Events on this site for all of the details. This is a wonderful event for people of all ages. The annual Laughlin trip is set for November 7-9, 2008. Details are on the enclosed flyer. The Recreation Committee works hard to bring our members quality Union Member events and these are very popular! Space is extremely limited for both events so please bring your bowling flyer to the BCEA office and mail in your Laughlin flyer to complete your registrations.
