In Loving Memory of Senior Animal Control Officer Flor Pagador
Burbank Animal Shelter Newsletter

This issue of the Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter newsletter is dedicated to the loving memory of our dear friend, and Senior Animal Control Officer, Florante Pagador, who passed away suddenly on Monday, May 17, 2004.

Flor was a native of the Philippines and graduated from high school in Manila. He earned his degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of the Philippines in 1984. Flor immigrated to the United States in 1985. He worked as a veterinary assistant to Dr. Jaime Velasco at the Magnolia Veterinary Clinic until he was hired by the Burbank Police Department as an Animal Control Officer in 1987. He was promoted to Senior Animal Control Officer in August of 2003.

Flor brought a wealth of skill and knowledge to the Animal Shelter. He was compassionate, gentle and caring of all animals. Flor was quick with a smile or a hug and was loved by all who knew him and worked with him.

Flor was a guiding light at the Burbank Animal Shelter for 17 years. He will be truly missed by the staff, the volunteers and the animals but never forgotten.
